Planet Languages was established twenty-five years ago, in 1994. Our business philosophy then was the same as it is today – to focus on integrity, quality, competitive rates, and first-class service.

This lies at the very heart of what we stand for. We treat every single one of our clients even better than we would wish to be treated ourselves. Each member of the Planet Languages team is committed to absolute honesty and transparency in everything we do.
For example, this means we will never win a client, and then try and make more profit on a project by using cheaper resources to fulfil the job. Or we will never overcharge for a project, even if we are able to do so with the client’s approval.
For us, trust is the key element in every meaningful and lasting relationship. Once we gain a client’s trust, we will always do our best to keep earning it.
As a testament to our unwavering commitment to quality and excellence, we are certified to the international ISO 17100 Translation Services standard, and to the ISO 18587 post-editing of Machine Translation output standard. We have also recently been certified to the ISO 14001 Environmental Management System standard. We are currently working towards certification to the ISO 27001 Information Security Management standard.
Although ISO standards are a good indication that we follow defined processes in order to demonstrate a certain level of quality, there is a huge difference between good quality and exceptional quality. Exceptional quality is not something which can just be assumed. At Planet Languages, we believe we have created a difference in attitude which is an essential part of our company culture and DNA, underpinning every task and process that we follow, to attain exceptional quality. To achieve such high standards, project after project, requires a great deal of continuous hard work and commitment to client satisfaction. We strive to deliver this exceptional quality on every single project.
Costs are often the benchmark that clients use to differentiate between different language service providers. This is an area that many of our competitors will focus on, to ensure they stand out. However, as with most things in life, you get what you pay for. Rather than reducing our prices by simply using linguists that cost us less to source, Planet Languages has always focused on using the best possible linguists available, to fulfil each project to the highest level.
The best linguists charge more for their work, plain and simple. For example, a text that is localised for a specific target market and reads like original copy, will cost more than a general translation which will be used for internal purposes.
Another important difference between Planet Languages and our competitors is that when we give our clients a quote for a project, the rates quoted will be all inclusive. This includes full Project Management. There will be no nasty surprises, no urgency fees, no hidden or unforeseen extras.
Unless there are fundamental changes made to the project brief, after our quotation was submitted, our invoice will never exceed the amount stated in our quotation.

This is an unsolicited testimonial from one of our clients. At Planet Languages, we believe that we are only as good as our last job. We don’t believe in resting on our laurels, but always consider ways in which we can improve how we do what we do, to give an even better service to our customers.
For example, many of our competitors allow their new project managers to start running projects after a training period of as little as two weeks. When a trainee Project Manager joins Planet Languages, they embark on a comprehensive training programme, alongside a mentor, which takes between six and nine months to complete. The idea is to build up the new employee’s confidence and knowledge incrementally, allowing them the time to understand and consolidate the systems, processes and workflows they’re going to be using.
Successfully running a complex multilingual project takes considerable skill, and we allow our project managers the time to learn their craft in an environment where they can build up their confidence, to carry out their jobs to a very high standard.
